Cinemaazi remembers Ferozeshah Mistry on his death anniversary

Ferozeshah Mistry, or Pirosha Misrtry or Pherozeshah M Mistry, as his name was alternatively spelled as, was a musician who played live music during silent film exhibitions. But the true reason for his importance in Indian film history is different. He was the music composer of the first Indian talkie - Alam Ara (1931). Though there are contradictory accounts to this. Some sources claim the composer to be B Irani. The film itself did not feature the name of the composer in its credits.
