Cinemaazi remembers Mac Mohan on his death anniversary

The number of people who became famous from the success of Sholay (1975) is incredible. One of the actors who benefitted from the film's iconic lines was none other than Sambha himself - Mac Mohan. But he lamented the fact that much of his role had been edited out of the film and did not even attend the premiere. He only realised how big a hit it was when he started getting mobbed wherever he went! He passed away on this day in 2010.

Remembering actress Mehroo on the occasion of her birth anniversary. She was born Mehroo Maneck Kaka on 10 May, 1933 in Bombay. Mehroo is known for films such as Rifle Girl (1958), Miss Toofan Mail (1958), Hunterwali (1959), and Hurricane Express (1961). She worked mainly with B J Patel, who specialised in action and stunt films.

Cinemaazi remembers Pandit Feroze Dastoor on his death anniversary

Appearing in several films as a singer-actor during the 30s and 40s, Pandit Feroze Dastoor eventually chose to bid adieu to acting and immerse himself fully in Indian classical singing. In 1977 he sang a bandish Ghat ghat me Raam ramaiya in Raag Lalit for Shyam Benegal’s film Bhoomika.

Other memorable songs in which she features include Awara ae mere dil from Raat Aur Din (1967), Maar diya jaye from Mera Gaon Mera Desh (1971), Apni prem kahaniyaan from Mera Gaon Mera Desh (1971), and Main sharaab bechti hoon from Raaste Ka Patthar (1972).
