Cinemaazi celebrates Shri Ram Bohra on his birth anniversary

Cinemaazi celebrates the filmmaker Shri Ram Bohra on his 97th birth anniversary. A prominent road in Mumbai has a square named after him, honouring his contribution to Indian cinema. The founder of Bohra Bros. in 1948, he was also the president of IMPPA (Indian Motion Picture Producers’ Association) for twelve years.

Hailing from Jodhpur in Rajasthan, Shree Ram Bohra came to Bombay in 1947 to pursue a career in cinema.
The first film made under the banner of Shree Films was Lachak(1951), starring Geeta Bali. Unfortunately, the film flopped. The second movie made by them, Al Hilal/ Judgement of Allah (1958) featuring the song Humein toh loot liya composed by Bulo C. Rani was a massive hit.
Shree Ram Bohra went on to produce and direct a number of successful films including Thief of Baghdad (1968), Gupt Shastra (1975) and Kali Raat (1977). In 1975, Shree Ram Bohra also formed a trust called The Film Industry Education and Charitable Trust.
