Cinemaazi remembers L V Prasad on his death anniversary

Dreaming of making it in films L V Prasad spent the early years of his career struggling in Mumbai working in various capacities for Venus Film Company and Imperial Film Company. He even stumbled into playing a role in Alam Ara (1931) the first sound film. When he was appointed as the assistant director for Gruha Pravesham (1946), due to some circumstances he ended up directing the film. The film's success set him on course to becoming one of the most successful director-producers of all time, across Tamil, Telugu and Hindi cinemas. He passed away on 22 June, 1994.
