Karan Abhyankar - a fearless and courageous Police Officer - has got himself transferred from civil to encounter cell - and has killed a number of notorious goons. D.C.P. Diwakar Mahatre arrests a big underworld criminal 'Bhua' while patrolling on 30th September night. This information is given to the Chief Minister who in turn orders Diwakar Mahatra to kill Bhau in an encounter. But D.C.P. Mahatre somehow avoids it and suggests the name of Karan Abhyankar agrees to do the encounter on the thru conditions put forward by him and promises to finish the operation within 36 hours. On the other side Bhau's aide Kaka is worried an sudden disappearance of Bhau and in this connection meets his old friend Gaja Pawle who in present day is his bitter enemy but in vain Constable Markunde give him information regarding Bhaus arrest. Karan takes the responsibility of this operation along with his officers. Renowned Model and Actress Sapna meets Chief Minister's Son Vicky in a film party who later tries to rape her. Karan rescues her and puts Vicky behind the bars. Sapna is the same girl with whom Karan had once exchanged the vows of love, but could not materialise his dream of spending his life with her as she preferred a modelling career to becoming a mere housewife as per Karan's wish, so both of the break up. On the other side Kaka kidnap & kill D.C.P. Mahatre at the same time Karan reaches Joggers Park along with his officers for the planned encounter, but as he is about to shoot he receives Chief Minister's call to stop the operation & in all this medley Bhau gets chance to escape and hides in a slum. Upset and angry Karan gives a piece of his mind to Chief Minister and comes to know that Kaka has proposed a bargain of Bhau for Chief Minister's son who is in Kaka's captivity. Karan tells Chief Minister that he will definitely kill Bhau under any circumstances. The slum is surrounded by Police force but still Bhau is able to escape from there but is finally killed by Karan in the prabat pheri on 2nd October. By this time Kaka & Gaja have also reached there and get killed by each other in cross firing. Eventually it is the victory of good over evil.
