Money... Money...  nothing but Money is the be-all and end-all of every individual today. The whole world is, as if only a mint, where everyone, rich or poor is busy in minting money by hook or crook, - by means fair or foul, forgetting altogether that Money is only a means to an end and not an end in itself.

JOTIN MUKERJI, a lawyer with a brilliant academic career resides in his dilapidated ancestral home with his wife MAYA, three children, and unmarried sister LAKSHMI. Maya being intensely religious and God-fearing does not let her husband take cases in defence of culprits. The inevitable consequence is poverty in its nudest form. Still, Maya tries to maintain an atmosphere of heavenly bliss and happiness in the house. But how long? Poverty plays its usual game, its first prey is RAM, their most beloved son, who dies a sad death due to no money for treatment of his illness. Lakshmi, in her sincere efforts to secure a job to help her brother, ends her life by committing suicide as she is indecently assaulted by her so-called employer ROY, a class debauch.

Jotin takes it to be a result of poverty, while Maya does not. She suspects the real reason. Anyway, death of Lakshmi gives a several blow to Jotin. He revolts against God, against Maya and even against his own conscience. He sets out in search of "MONEY" which he now thinks can give everything, even the pleasure and peace of mind. He starts minting money by prostituting his noble profession and finally by running various fraudulent business on the largest scale possible.

He has now all the reasons to be infinitely happy.

But is he?

TAKSAAL will answer it.
