Jagmohan and Mohanlal are old friends, Jagmohan is father of two daughters, Hema and Pinky, of marriageable age.

Mohanlal has a son, Raja. Jagmohan wants any one of his daughters to marry Raja.

When Raja comes to know of his father's intentions he is disturbed. He has no desire to marry since he has been jilted twice. But when Raja's father insists, he reluctantly agrees to marry.

Raja goes to Jagmohan's house to select one of his daughters as his wife. He plays a frame. He takes his trusted servant along with him. At Jagmohan's house the Servant acts as Raja & Raja as servant. Raja as a servant comes to like Hema the elder daughter because of her simplicity and goodwill. Pinky is already in love with a boy called Amit.

Pinky gets pregnant. She visits Amit but comes to know that Amit has gone away to get married to some other girl of his mother's choice. Pinky is heart broken, she wants to commit suicide. Pinky's mother persuades her not to take the extreme steps as this will ruin Jagmohan and the honour of the family. To save their face Pinky's mother blames Raja (the servant) as the culprit.

Mohanlal is called by Jagmohan and everybody is stunned to know their real identity of Raja and the servant.
