Keshav (Mithun Chakrabort) a porter by profession lives with his sister Mehandi (Rajeshwari Sachdev) who he loves more than his life and a drunkard father Rasiklal (Inderjit Sachdev) in a small village. 

The only motto of Keshav's life is to get Mehandi married and settle her happily. At the same time he falls in love with Janki (Sheena), a weaver girl whose family also lives in the same village Janki also loves him madly.

At the same time thre is Lajo (Sindhor) also a porter madly loves Keshav and wants to marry Keshav. She keep a proposal to her mother that if her brother Birjoo (Vishwajeet Pradhan) marries Mehandi, Keshav in return will get married to Lajo.

But destiny has some other thing in store for everybody. When Birjoo comes back from dobh refuses to marry Mehandi because she is dumb.

And there is a clash between Keshav and Birjoo.
