Kaise Kahoon Ke Pyaar Hai (2003)

Karan is son of Lakhsmi and Dharam. He was only ten years old when Lakshmi came to know that Dharam was a robber by profession. But, Lakshmi along with Karan and her daughter Kiran left Dharam forever so that she could give a cultured upbringing to her children.

Unknown to her Karan joined his father in his escapades against the tormentors of the downtrodden. In a short span Karan had gained the reputation of being the most cunning cat burglar the county had seen.

Karan was in love with Priya, the beautiful daughter of business tycoon Somnath Arya. It was due to his profession that Karan was unable to confess his love for Priya. Similarly Priya was also passionately in love with Karan but could never muster enough courage to open her heart out in front of him inspite of her friends Nikki's numerous attempts to get them closer.

Meanwhile, it was decided by the law machinery to reinstate suspended CBI officer Arjun Singh, their most lethal weapon. He announced in a press conference that he would have the criminal behind bars in just ten days.

Inspite of Priya's warning to e away from him, Sonia, made her moves to woo Karan. The conflicts was finally resolved during the farewell party night, when Karan fathered enough courage to confess his feeling to Priya who was elated. During the last robbery there is a major confrontation between Arjun Singh and Karan and in the process of saving Daran, Dharam gets shot, Karan is sentenced for one year of rigorous imprisonment.

A shattered Lakshmi along with Kiran leaves the house disowning Karan. Sandwich urges her to stay with him. Time passes by Priya could never forget Karan and pined for him. Karan completed his sentence and apologized to Lakshmi who forgave him after he promised the he would never rob again. Karan had no heart to call Priya again and he decided that it was best that he forget her.

As fate would have it Karan landed up with a job with Somnath Arya. Thus he found himself face to face with Priya again. Priya tried wooing him back and it was after some efforts that Karan confessed that he still loved her. Somnath was happy with the alliance and he wanted the couple get back and to get engaged. Karan had complained of dizziness couple of times and it was just before the engagement that he got the news that his medical report indicated blood cancer. He was stunned. In a bid to keep Priya away from the aftermath of his fatal disease Karan solicited he help of Sonia and staged a drama on the engagement day that he was actually in love with Sonia and thus he broke the engagement hoping that smarting from the hurt, Priya would forget him.

Karan told the truth about his illness to Somnath and requested for help to get his sister married before destiny took his life away. Somnath revealed that his entire business was being held to ransom by Deoraj. Deoraj was under threat from the underworld ganglord, Thakur whom he owed a huge amount of money and so Deoraj was putting a lot of pressure on Somnath. Deoraj's safe and in lieu of this he would ensure Kiran's marriage. Seeing no othe choice Karan agreed. Karan successfully managed to get the file from Deoraj's safe but he was stunned the next day when he was arrested for Deoraj's murder.

Lakshmi was once again a broken woman. Sandwich who knew the truth about Karan's illness told Lakshmi that whatever Karan had done he had done for the sake of his family. Sonia also told the truth about the drama that she and Karan had staged during the engagement day. Priya went to meet Karan in the jail and in an emotional outburst she slipped from the stairs. She had lost a lot of blood. It was an emergency and Karan was the only one who had the same blood group. The doctor requested him to donate his blood to save her life. Karan was shocked. How could he?

He fought with questions in the darkness of his cell. Why did the doctor lie? Who had killed Deoraj? Will he and Priya ever be united? He was desperate to find out the truth. Time was running out.
