Mehndi Lagi Mere Haath is the Love Story of Deepak and Rajni, circumstance brought them together and they, between themselves, created a new moon, arranged new stars.

Doctor Mehta, incharge of the hospital where Deepak worked, was very fond of Deepak. He advised Deepak and Rajni that since they loved each other, they should get the permission of their parents and get married.

Rajni goes to get her mother's consent but when she reaches home, she discovers that she is an illegitimate child that she was born out of wedlock.

Rajni is shocked, she cannot believe this of her mother and she seeks explanation from her mother but her mother remains silent, she has nothing to say.

Heart broken Rajni comes back to Bombay, determined that she will not darken the fair name of Deepak by allowing him to get married to a nameless girl, a social outcast.

She play acts, she makes Deepak believe that her love was just a pose and that Deepak has just been a pleasant pass time.

Deepak cannot believe it - but then he cannot also disbelieve the fact that Rajni hates even the sight of him.

Perplexed and unhappy, he looses interest in his work with the result he starts committing blunders to the extent that the Medical Board decides to take away his Degree.

Doctor Mehta puts up a defence and saves Deepak from this disgrace.

But Deepak, disgusted of life and his own self, goes away to meet death half way, to a place where Plague is taking toll on life and where the doctors are refusing to go.

Mehndi Lagi Mere Haath is the story of Love of Deepak and Rajni, the love which does not make one forget one's duty towards humanity.
