Mahendra Behl a man whose only aim in life is to become rich, who does not know the meaning of love, leaves his wife and son to marry a rich lady who is ailing and about to die from cancer. After her death he returns to take his family back. His wife a very determined and principal minded lady refuses to go with her husband because of the attitude of her husband but lets her son go with his father.

Mahendra Behl walks out with the son leaving his wife behind. This son grows up to be a handsome happy go lucky cassanova who falls in love with his classmate. Incidentally his mother has just been deputed as the principal of the same college, they are studying. How our hero Raj and Nikita meet and how the mother and son meet is what this musical-emotional Love Story "AFSANA PYAR KA" is about.
