What happens when an eighteen-year old girl becomes the victim of a heinous rape and murder?

What happens when her family - a widow - mother, a twin sister and a six-year old kid sister - is left shattered by this unspeakable crime?

What happens when there is a ruthless enemy, and a frightened but determined girl in Search of Justice?

What happens when she finds unexpected love?

What happens then is the story of Dushman. Naina Saigal (Kajol) cannot forget the anguished screams of her twin sister Sonia when she was being brugally raped. Much against the wishes of her mother (Tanvi Azmi), defying the warnings of the ACP (Pramod Moutho). She pursues the criminal (Ashutosh Rana). She tracks him down only to lose the case against him in court. The only person testifying against him his nurse-girlfriend, takes her back her testimony because he weaps in front of everyone in the court-room promising her marriage and never-ending love. A broken Naina doesn't give up. She follows him in his pursuit of another poor girl and saves her life, but in the vicious post-man's fury gets directed towards Naina. He runs after her like an animal possessed with the desire to kill. That's when help comes her way unexpectedly in the shape of Sooraj Singh Rathod (Sanjay Dutt), a blind ex-army major. He's the only one around her who tells her that she's right in feeling angry, in feeling wronged, in feeling hate towards that man. He tells her to go aggressively after him for which he trains her army-style. He tells her She's brave and good but in this fight, She's alone and must do it without anyone's support. He infuses into her a new drive because of which she lashes out against the rapist of her sister. She literally invites him into her house, in the end, for a one-to-one fight to the finish.

Will succeed in, defeating her enemy?
Will her sister's senseless murder be avenged?
Who will win this battle between good and evil?
