'Darinda' is the story of Krishna, an innocent boy who belongs to a low caste. He is in love with Kirti, the daughter of Thakur Sher Singh. When Thakur comes to know of this fact he gets Krishna beaten mercilessly by his men and throws him into the river. The unconscious Krishna is rescued from drowning in the river by a Maharishi. The Maharishi gives Krishna a Guru-Mantra. Days pass into years and now Krishna has become a new man, Yogi Dutt. He bids farewell to his Guru and comes to his village to meet his parents. In the village he meets his father who has gone mad because of the torture of Thakur Sher Singh. His father informs him that his mother had also died because of those tortures and then the father also dies. This incident brings a metamorphosis in Yogi Dutt. He loses his temper and vows vengeance on the cruel society which had destroyed his parents and his love.

What happens to Yogi Dutt after he takes this vow?
