Gangasingh had only one dream in his life, that of seeing his only sister Pooja happily married and settled in life. And he already had fixed it up with the son of Surajbhansingh. But destiny had other plans.

Ganga became a victim of his own uprightness because of which he always took sides with the underdogs against exploitation and oppression of the local tyrant Thakur Vikramsingh, who became his deadly enemy. Their enmity reached the climax when Ganga saved Reshmabai, a nawtanki girl, from becoming a victim of Vikram's lust.

Besides Ganga Vikram had problems with his step-brother Balbir, who was pressing for his share of property and cash left by their father. So Vikram hatched a devilish plan and murdering Balbir himself threw the blame on Ganga, who was sentenced to life imprisonment by the court of the crime he never committed. However Vikram did not stay satisfied with Ganga in jail, he started harassing Pooja, even to the extent that it became impossible for her to stay in the village.

When the news of his sister's harassment reached Ganga, he became mad with fury and broke away from jail with a notorious dacoit Bhawansingh. Next he swooped on the village with his band of dacoits to wreck vengeance on his arch enemy - Vikram, killed several of his henchmen. However, Vikram managed to slip away somewhat and went underground. In quest of his object of revenge Ganga let loose a reign of terror and was declared the most ferocious dacoit of the area. However, the terror of Ganga saved Pooja from harassment at the hands of Vikram.

At this point Inspector Ajay, posing as the reporter of "Satya Kahaniya", came to the village to capture Ganga, dead or alive. He met Pooja and requested her to arrange an interview with her brother, Ganga, so that he could listen to his story from his own lips and punish it in his journal. But the simple beauty and nature of Pooja and her doomed life of misery and isolation inspired a totally different story in the heart of Ajay...The story of love....
