Gopal (Sanjeev Luthra) is an excellent violinist cum singer. He comes to Bombay in search of accommodation. Knocks a door. He is mesmerised by the beauty and innocence of Mohini (Priyadarshini). Mohini's stepmother Lekha (Padma Khanna) agrees to let him a room but she puts a hard condition.......

Gopal roams in search of a job. Finally he comes across Ahuja (Tushar), a big hotelier, who instantly appoints him as a crooner but attaches very strange condition.... with his appointment.

Gopal is unnerved by vicious circle of terms and conditions as he had won the precious love of Mohini love which is limitless, unbounded, free from any condition.

Mohini lives with her father Vermaji (Dr. Shriram Lagoo) and stepmother Lekha. She enjoys his love and affection and mother's tyranny too in equal measure. When Mohini was just 5 years old, she lost her mother to the wolves of society. In that incident, she lost her eye sight and her father became paraplegic.  Both the father and daughter nurse their own wounds. They would get breeze of joy only when an innocent child Munni (Baby Pooja) from neighbourhood would visit them. Now Gopal has come. He gives hope to Vermaji and revives the spirit of Mohini and she gets the taste of pure love.

Gopal determines to get back her eye-sight at any cost. He takes her to the Holy Shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi. Then he starts working hard as a crooner in Ahuja's hotel. His enchanting voice and music bring fame and glory to the hotel. This affects the business of Seth Ranjit (Tiku Talsania) and old foe and competitor of Ahuja. His hotel has to take the services of eunuchs (Hijras) and that affects adversely.

Lekha had and immoral affair with Dr. Kumar (Arvind Kirad) which takes an unexpected tragic turn.

Gopal confident with success, expresses his need to Ahuja for the sake of his beloved. Ahuja refuses point blank, Gopal sinking in depression. Then Seth Ranjeet comes to his help, but he too puts a very cruel condition....

The lover, now has to cross an ocean of fire, is put to servere test.
