Inder Thakur was an actor, fashion designer, model and Air-India flight purser The youngest son of character actor Hiralal Thakur, Inder played the elder brother of Sachin in the film Nadiya Ke Paar (1982). The film was made under the Rajshri Productions banner, and featured Sachin, Sadhana Singh, Inder Thakur, and Mitali in lead roles. The film, a rural love story, was later remade by the production house in 1994 as the superhit Hum Aapke Hain Koun...! 

Other films Inder Thakur featured in include the Subhash Ghai directorial Hero (1983) in which he played the character Yuvraaj, the Deven Verma production Chatpati (1983) which starred Smita Patil, and Tulsi (1985) directed by Veerendra in which he played a character named Ganesh Singh alongside Sachin Pilgaonkar and Sadhana Singh. 

Inder Thakur also won the 1985 International Fashion Designer award during the World Modelling Association convention in New York City. Inder Thakur passed away tragically on 23 June, 1985, along with his wife Priya and their child, in the bombing of Air India Flight 182 which crashed into the Atlantic Ocean, killing 329 people on board. He was 35.
