Bhimsingh and Ramlal are close friends. Without consulting his son Kishan, Bhimsingh arranges the marriage of Ramlal's illiterate daughter Chando with Kishan. Kishan who can't go against the wishes of his disciplinarian father, relents. But he is far from happy.
On one of his business trips Kishan meets Radha a beautiful salesgirl from Bombay and is attracted towards her. Circumstances so have it that Kishan is forced to marry Radha and stay put in Bombay. Back home Chando is waiting for Kishan to return. When he fails to return Chando and her father-in-law meet Kishan and ask him to take Chando with him. The situation is a dilemma for Kishan who however keeps Chando a secret from Radha. When Chando hears about Kishan's second marriage she is shocked. And one day Radha herself spots Kishan and Chando in an intimate embrace.
