Aplam and Chaplam are friends. Due to world's unfairness, they become lovable criminals to lead their life. They are dodging everybody with very cleverness and escapes in all their acts.

After some time, they happen to pass through and orphanage where they come in contact with a beautiful girl Lajwanti. They bring her to the city with high hopes and assurances that they will make her a very big film artiste. They open a theatre where she gives dance performances and gets public applause.

During this period a young man Ramesh come to the city from his village with some money for business purposes. Here he comes in contact with these two crooks, Aplam and Chaplam and is fully in their trap and invests his money in the theatre. Ramesh and Lajwanti fall in love with each other. The crooks taking advantage of this situation run away with the theatre collections and leaving a misunderstanding in the mind of Ramesh that Lajwanti is Aplam-Chaplam's partner in this and Ramesh starts hating Lajwanti. But when Lajwanti comes to know about all this, just to exonerate herself from this charge, chases the crooks.

On the other hand, the wife of Biharilal, aunt of Lajwanti, confesses at the time of her death Lajwanti is alive, and she did not kill her but handed over Lajwanti to an orphanage, which enrages Biharilal and who makes up his mind to finish her. Just to fulfill his object, he tries to take the help of Aplam and Chaplam and ultimately the crooks strike a bargain with Biharilal that they will hand over his niece to him,. Ultimately wise councel prevails on the crooks and they take an oath and determine to save the life of Lajwanti from the hands of Biharilal.
