'CHAURAHA' (crossroad) is a mute witness to all kinds of incidents, good or bad. During the day, Amar, a 12-13 yrs-old orphan works in a hotel and at night, studies at Masterji's (Aloknath) school. Kalinath (SadashivAmarpurkar), a pimp, murders one of his 'customers' and sadly, the innocent Amar is convicted instead of Kalinath. Thus, Kalinath succeeds in trapping Amar in the murder case. After many years, Amar (Jackie Shroff) returns at the very same crossroad after completing his sentence and finds that almost everything has changed over the years. The school has made way for a gamble-house. He comes to know that Kashinath is dead and that, his son Baba Bhatti (Danny Dengongpa) is one of the leading criminals in the area. Amar is happy to meet Masterjee and his friends after such a long gap. Amar brings the crooks to book and the gamble-house now makes way for 'InsaafGhar', an institution meant for meting out justice to the oppressed. KailashMathur (Jeetendra) is an honest Inspector in the same area. Pooja (Jaya Prada) is his wife and Poonam (AshiwiniBhave), his sister. Amar and Poonam fall in love. Amar comes across a poster of Badrinath, who is contesting the elections. Amar identifies him instantly. He is the pimp Kalinath in the guise of a politician, with a different name. Amar and his friends Kidnap Kalinath alias Badrinath two days before the elections. Baba Bhatti retaliates and unleashes a reign of terror at the 'CHAURAHA'.
