Vijay Verma (Mithun Chakraborthy) is a big time Journalist of the city. His family consists of four persons- he himself, his father Satya Prakash (Prithvi Zutshi), mother (Lekha Govil) and his younger brother Vishal (Vishal Bakshi). Vishal is happy-go-lucky guy who loves music and dance. Inspector Kiran Chaudhary (Swarna) is a Dare-Devil Police Officer who is in love with Vijay Verma.

Mariya Gomes (Megha) is a beautiful, lively fun loving girl doted upon by an adoring uncle David Gomes (Prem Chopra). She bumps into Vishal at a Musical Show and falls in love with him at first sight. Vishal is hesitant in the beginning but gradually he comes close to her and reciprocates her love. However, when Vishal's father gets to know of this love story, he is up in arms against the affair as he does not want his son to marry a Christian girl.

Nevertheless, circumstances connive to force Vishal to marry Mariya against his father's wishes who subsequently, at the behest of elder son Vijay, agrees to accept Mariya as his daughter-in-law. Vishal brings Mariya to his home and during introduction, she is shocked and shaken when she meets Vijay, Vishal's elder brother. Mariya immediately recollects a scene from her past when she had been a witness to Vijay committing a murder. Vijay too recognises her and is at the horns of a dilemma. Meanwhile, Inspector Kiran Choudhary has been assigned the task of investigating the said murder case.

What happens thereafter? Does Mariya give her statement to the police against Vijay? Why did Vijay, a highly respected journalist commit such a heinous crime as murder? Does he kill Mariya too to save himself? What happens when Vishal comes to know the truth that his brother whom he used to respect, is a cold-blooded murderer.

Answers for all these questions only on the big screen.
