Overjoyed at the prospects of becoming a father, Arun engineers a plan to avoid the child being a social outcast.

Praap Singh, a trade unionist who has become the victim of cruel jokes about his impotence is married off to Kiran with a promise that on delivery of her child he shall divorce her.

However, Pratap changes his mind once Kiran delivers Arun's son. He goes away abroad taking the child and Kiran with him.

Time follows, and Varun (Suneil Anand) grows up. Arun keeps on pining for his son who has meanwhile fallen in love with a rich college-mate Rachana (Natasha).
