The very name of "REDSHIRT" was a terror. He was the most sought after criminal whose face nobody had seen. One day Bhagatsingh, an important member of his gang revolted against him and was shot dead just at the time he was giving his statement to the C.I.D. Inspector Shanker (Kiran Kumar). When Shanker was discussing the murder of the deceased with his chief, he received an anonymous call, threatening the death of his only sister who has already been kidnapped by the men of Redshirt. Disguised as Shanker Himatsingh, came to the town of ALAMPUR which was the main base of Redshirt's activities. There he met Makhansingh (Yogita Bali), the sweet tongawalla, who became very friendly with him in a short time.

Shamma (Jayshree T.) the cabaret dancer tried to entrap him but Shanker was too hard a nut to be cracked.

Out of jealousy the womanhood hiding in Makhansingh came out. He started meeting Himatsingh as Balwant Kaur, the most charming damsel in the town. One day it was revealed even Balwant Kaur was Radha, an unfortunate girl who had to don the disguise of Makhansingh for fear of Redshirt who was the ruthless murderer of her father who had refused to sell his daughter to him for all the wealth of the world. Shanker and Radha had common goal and together they started moving for its achievement.

The men of Redshirt who had recognised Shanker, tried to kill him and kidnap Radha. Shamma a dancer who was in fact a girl from C.I.D. sacrificed her life in providing exact clue to the hide-out of Redshirt. Shanker was able to rescue his sister from the gangsters but ultimately she hanged herself to death because she was pregnant. Fired with the death of his sister and the kidnap of his beloved, Shanker made his last bid to catch hold of Redshirt. Redshirt was presented to the court where he was unveiled. He turned out to be very notorious crook and criminal who was sought by the Police of many provinces. He was sentenced for the life imprisonment. While he was being taken to the Central Jail, he escaped from the custody of the Police followed by his side kick Imtiaz. It led to a bloody fight between the two. Shanker also reached at the nick of time when Redshirt badly wounded was trying to escape for the last time.

Was Shanker able to arrest Redshirt? If so who was Redshirt? "APRADHI" would provide the answer to these questions.
