“Is he a human being who, because of adverse circumstances turns into a bad person? No, the true being is the one who despite such bad conditions, remains a good man!” Hearing these words from the lips if Mala, a strange dancer of great beauty and renown, Shamu’s heart was pierced by remorse, for Mala little knew that the man she was addressing as Deepak, the playwright, was in truth, a notorious thief Shamu, who had taken shelter inside a theatre only to evade police inspector Kumar who had been pursuing him.

But fate plays a strange trick on Shamu. For the very impersonation he was practicing returns to him as an accomplished fact, for Deepak the writer, dies and Shamu the thief whom the world now comes to recognize as Deepak steps in his boot!

Being thrown constantly together, Deepak and Mala fall in love and respond to each other’s sentiments. And all might have gone well, had not a great impediment come before him… the shape of Rajni, the rich girlfriend of the deceased playwright Deepak, who has such conclusive proofs in her hand as would easily send Shamu to jail!

To prevent this proof from falling into the hands of Inspector Kumar who like  a shadow is relentlessly on his trial, Shamu pretends to love Rajni, creating more complications. For Mala is now furious, and begins to doiubt her lover, who on the other hand, tries his best to place all proofs of his love before her feet. He is like a man who has reached his goal, yet stands before it with suspicion and doubt!! For he is the man with BANDHE HATH!

THIS IS THE CORE OF OUR STORY, and as it reaches its climax the screen bursts into a crescendo, providing the audience a rousing, exhilarating entertainment.
