Spiritual, mental and physical harmony between men and women is the unshakeable foundation of a successful marriage. This naturally involves an element of mutual trust and understanding. Without that a marriage wrecks on the rocks of frustration and strife.

Amar and Neeta are introduced by a playboy friend Prakash in a Ramleela rehearsal. Neeta is impressed by Amar and falls in love with him. Amar also falls in love with her. Prakash, who believed in loving every young and beautiful girl, Starts loving Neeta. When he comes to know that Neeta Loves Amar, he feels it.

Neeta is brought up under the influence of West. Amar is a typical Indian—yet both promise to adjust in life and get married.

Fate never spares anyone. Amar, himself an architect, could not be an architect of his own destiny. One day, on the eve of Neeta's birthday, her friends dance and drink in the house during Amar's absence. Amar comes and finds drink all over the place. He gets furious when he sees drink spilled near the house temple. He insults everyone and turns them out. In the heat of the moment Amar slaps Neeta. She leaves home forever and goes to her father.

After realising consequences of married life Amar goes to meet Neeta. She refuses to see even his face. Neeta's father asks Amar to agree to a divorce.

Amar is hurt very much. But the fate of Amar watched silently—surprise for everyone—whosoever is concerned with it—as well as for you, which you can see on the screen in this colourful panorama of life.
