NOTHING SURVIVES FOREVER...BUT LOVE.

The story of KISNA harks back to the colonial India of 1930s, then under the British regime, clearly in the grips of a sharp divide between the ruler and the ruled. As a young Beckett, Katherine had strict instructions from her 'ruthless' father not to mingle with the 'heathens'. Despite 'the white settlers' warning, Katherine had bonded with a native Indian boy, Kisna who stood by her through every whim of childhood and every threat of danger as an adult.

Because when the song of freedom was sung on Indian land and the sound of elegy could be heard at the Beckett house- one of the targets of the wrath and ire of the oppressed native Indian community, Katherine, having lost all, was able to get away from the mayhem only because of her childhood consort, Kisna who had just got engaged to a native belle called Luxmi. But Kisna takes it as his karma and vows to carry her to safety to the British office in Delhi, against all odds from his own community.

The great escape that follows assumed epic proportions both in theme and canvas as they traversed raging rivers, overpowering mountains, thick forests, horse chases, refugee camps, massacres...and also places of comfort and refuge. The sojourn had confronted Katherine and her mother with multicultural diversity of Indian ethos, replete with its royal princes and bandits. They were brought together by the strange powers of history, destiny, love and friendship. Despite the blood of innocents, they also saw the colour of brotherhood that reigned above religion, race and language and dissolved boundaries.

The outer rugged terrain gave way to a paradise within... The little lamps of faith floating on the holy waters of the Ganges had become a metaphor for their silent love that had power enough to light up the entire Universe in spite of their stormy journey.

Now the future of the story brings so many questions to light...

Do they ever reach their destination?
And what is that destination?
Does their love bond them forever...or do they depart?
Or does it immortalize a divine love story that survived the tyranny of wilderness and human hatred...?

Kisna. An unsung untold story of a rural Indian young boy...a poet who becomes a warrior for the just, rising above his karma and dharma.
