Raju Verma (Anil Kapoor), the chief mechanic at the Sheetal Industries and Kajal (Raveena Tandon), Sheetal Jetley's (Sridivi) personal Secretary, fall in love. Sheetal Jetley is the daughter of Laxminarayan Jetley (Anupam Kher), the owner of Sheetal Industries. Under Sheetal's surveillance, Sheetal Industries has made its way to the top. Basically, Sheetal is quite arrogant and success has gone to her head. She hates losing to anybody in any walk of life and wants to be second to no one. Suryadev's (Prem Chopra) Industry holds the second position in the market. Vicky (Mohnish Behl) is his son and Rawat (Raresh Rawal), his brother. Keeping monetary benefits in mind, Suryadev asks for Sheetal's hand in marriage to Vicky. Sheetal disapproves and even humiliates Suryadev. Suryadev and Rawat want to avenge this insult. They bribe Sheetal Industries' general manager Bhandari (Shakti Kapoor) and plan to murder Sheetal. Raju is very popular among the workers and when workers make him the union leader against her wish, Sheetal doesn't like it. She hates Raju. On one occasion, Raju foils Bhandari's plan and saves Sheetal's life. Instead of thanking Raju, Sheetal slaps him and insults him without knowing the whole truth. Raju retaliates and slaps Sheetal in her own cabin. Sheetal wants to settle the score at any cost. Just for the sake of revenge, she decides to tie the knot with none other than Raju.

Kajal decides to sacrifice her love for Raju when she comes to know that Sheetal's father has approached Raju's mother, Gayatri Devi (Farida Jalal), with the proposal. Raju rejects the proposal but, eventually, ciurcumstances force him to tie the knot with Sheetal. The wedding is just an indication of worse things to come as Sheetal makes her intentions clear but Raju is no easy prey. He's not going to give up. It's not a marriage, it's a cat and mouse game, full of conflicts. Who will be the victor? On the other hand, what is Kajal's fate? To know the answers, you will have to view 'LAADLA'.
