Karan (Sanjay Kapoor) is a happy go lucky young boy staying in the city of Bombay with his mother sharda verma (Moushumi Chatterjee) who is a Public Prosecutor.
   Karan meets kajal (Juhi Chawla) the livewire daughter of an equally livewire father Ramakant Sahay (Saeed Jaffrey) and they fall in love and decide to unite in marital bliss.
   Calamity strikes karan in the form of Bishambhar Chaudhary (Pramod Moutho) which shatters karan’s life and his destiny takes him to sundernagar where he is exposed to a past involving Gayatri (Aroona irani) and Ugranarayan Singh (Amrish Puri).
