Shankar is a very poor boy. He buys medicine for his Sick mother by the money given by Robert, who is a notorious pick-pocketer. But his mother prefers death rather than accept the medicine bought by Roberts black-money. Shanker labours very hard & collects money, but before he could buy the medicine, some mis-guided street urchins snack has hard earned money & buy country liquor instead & enjoy themselves. The mother dies for want of medicine.
The orphaned Shankar has nobody else to fall back upon; but join Robert & his black deeds. Thus Shankar becomes a member of Roberts small family of father & daughter Rosy. Both Shankar & Rosy grow up to adolescence from childhood & it is but natural for the girl to fall for the handsome growing up boy in the house.
Sharmila, a millioner's daughter comes to the Juhu beach everyday for horse riding & one day it so happen's that her horse becomes wild & gets out of her control but just in time she is saved by Shankar. Shankar steals Sharmila's precious gold chain but this being the first occasion in his life, He later at her residence Returns the gold chain to gain a certain impression for herself. Here he meets Sharmila's uncle Durgadas & his son Jimmy. Sharmila is highly impressed by Shankar's honesty & personality. Durgadas is a very shrewed & designing person & wants some how to get his son, Jimmy, married to Sharmila for her inherited wealth. Realising her interest in Shankar Durgadas plans a situation where he succeed catching Shanker red-handed while stealing under Sharmila's own nose. Thereafter Sharmila's attitude changes towards Shanker & she starts hating the man she once loved. The sudden shock drives Shanker to the bottle & he starts destroying himself like this and after knowing the truth tries to pacify Sharmila. But Sharmila rejects all her please.
