Wardat opens with a huge swarm of locusts attacking a village. All the farmland in the village is destroyed. Anand, a CBI agent sent to investigate the matter, but he is killed. A man named Shakti seems to have led the attack under the orders of an unknown mastermind. Together, they plan a secret operation titled Operation Destroy to end the world.

Locust attacks on various farmlands continue. Shakti grabs this opportunity and introduces inferior grain to be sold in the markets, which is laced with a chemical that harms people on consumption. After Anand’s death the CBI sends their best agent, Gunmaster G-9 AKA Gopinath to investigate the matter.

Meanwhile, Anand’s sister Anuradha is manipulated by Shakti into thinking that G-9 killed her brother in order to make her an ally in capturing G-9. After many failed attempts to kill G-9, when Anuradha confronts G-9, he makes her realise that Shakti has been manipulating her. To catch Shakti and the unknown mastermind, Anuradha turns double agent and starts working in cahoots with G-9.

Finally, G-9 along with Kajal, his lover, and Kabadi, his assistant, is able to locate the lair of the mastermind. Zambola is a mad scientist who plans on destroying the world. He has been orchestrating the locust attacks to mess up the ecosystem. He has also developed a formula that could be used to control humans like robots which makes the people consuming it gain super strength. G-9 with the help of Anuradha, Kajal and Kabadi is able to stop Zambola and Shakti. Anuradha is killed in the crossfire and Zambola’s entire lair is destroyed. G-9, Kajal and Kabadi escape in the nick of time and save the world.

Wardat is a sequel to the 1979 spy-thriller Surakksha, also starring Mithun Chakroborty in the role of the CBI agent Gunmaster G-9.
