Vikram and Sunita love each other. Vikram is a rich boy, whereas Sunita is an orphan. She earns her livelihood as a singer and Vikram loves her voice as much as he loves Sunita. But Vikram’s mother is against the idea of Vikram and Sunita getting married, because of Sunite being a poor girl--------- with no family background. All the same, they decide to get married. But on their way to the temple their car meets with an accident. The beautiful face of Sunita gets completely disfigured and she is now faceless. When Vikram regains his consciousness, his mother tells him that Sunita dies in the accident. In fact, Sunita reaches into the hospital of Dr. Mehra a renowned plastic surgeon. Dr. Mehra treats her and gives her a new face. But when Sunita comes to meet Vikram, she sees that he is getting engaged to Rita. Sunita misunderstands Vikram. Dr. Mehra tells Sunita to start a new life with her new face. Sunita changes her name to Kusum. Everything in Sunita has changed into Kusum. Only her voice is the same. By coincidence Vikram hears Kusum’s voice. He recognizes Kusum’s voice as Sunita’s voice and he is puzzled.

He is completely mystified by the voice and finds himself attracted to Kusum in a very strange manner—will he recognize his love? Will he realize that Kusum only is his Sunita? Will Sunita and Vikram ever be able to fulfill their promise of love?
