HUM NAHIN SUDHRENGE is a story of three people who look alike. One is Madanlal Chaprasi, Second Private Detective P.K. Lal and the third dare-devil vagabond, master of disguises, Chand alias Jugal Kishore, the man most wanted by the police with a reward on his head. Paired with these three look-alikes are three different girls. With Madanlal Chaprasi is the knife-wielding gypsy Geeta. With P.K. Lal is Miss Bali and with the vagabond Chand is his accomplice Rani.

One day P.K. Lal discovers the existence of the vagabond Chand who resembles him. When Chand learns that Private Detective P.K. Lal resembles him, he kidnaps him. On the other hand poor Madanlal Chaprasi is one day chased by the public who mistakes him for Chand. Madanlal runs for dear life and seeks sanctuary in a Police Station where the Police Inspector is shocked to see the resemblance of Madanlal with Chand.

The police then plot the set up to catch Chand using Madanlal's resemblance to Chand to their advantage but to no avail.

What did Chand do after kidnapping Private Detective P.K. Lal? How did the Police exploit Madanlal's resemblance to Chand? What wa the fate of Chand? How did the gypsy Geeta, the detective Miss Bali and Chand's accomplice Rani help the story reach a grand finale? How did Keshto Mukherji, Aruna Irani, Mukri, T.P. Jain Madan Puri, Ram Sethi, Bharat Kapoor and Leela Mishra lose themselves in this maze of mistaken identities in trying to gain their ends?
