Chaudhary Amar Singh was a honourable and honest man. Just as honurable were his wife Sharda, and his strong and lion hearted son, Vikraanta whose pastime was to have cock-fights. Vikraanta had and adopted sister, Zeenat who lived with her mother Sakina in the same village.
At the fair on Raksha Bandhan when Vikraanta was enjoying the victory of his pet cock Shera, he went to see a dance and fell in love with Nimmo the danseuse. Before they could get together Nimmo's drunkard father sold her to a brothel and Nimmo become the prostitute and dancer Noorie.
At the same time, the Bade Thakur of the village who had control of all the farmers land decided to bribe Chaudhury Amar Singh to betray the farmers. When he refused to agree to his scheme, Jaswant Singh murdered Amar Singh and took over all the farmers land.
Vikraanta went to complain to the police, but when nothing seemed to work, he murdered Pratap Singh and fled from the village. To take revenge, Pratap Singh' son, who had a sugar factory from where he supplied drugs and brown sugar, burnt down Vikraanta's house and killed his mother.
Vikraanta became a dacoit. There, his sister Zeenat got married to a police officer Sher Ali Khan who set out to arrest Vikraanta. Noorie, Vikraanta's beloved Nimmo met him again but only to be sold by Maina Sundari to Thakur Jaswant Singh. In grief and anger, Vikraanta destroyed all the dancing brothels...
