Lyricist, story-writer and dialogue-writer Ramesh Chandra Pandey, popularly known as R C Pandey, is known for films such as Jadui Jhoola (1943), Bhakt Puran (1952), Aladdin Aur Jadui Chirag (1952), Nav Durga (1953), and Ram Hanuman Yudh (1957). In the course of his career, he wrote emotive lyrics for a wide range of romantic to mythological songs in films such as Dhyanu Bhagat (1978), Bajrang Bali (1976) and Kisan Aur Bhagwan (1974), besides penning story and dialogue for other films.

Among the key films he penned dialogues for were Raj Rani Meera (1956) directed by G P Pawar and starring Prem Adib, Sulochana Latkar, and Mahipal; Jang Bahadur (1958) directed by G P Pawar and starring Shashikala Jawalkar, Purnima, and Chandrashekhar Vaidya; Anarbala (1961) directed by Raja Yagnik and starring Daljit and Krishnakumari; Lav Kush (1967) directed by S N Tripathi and starring Ashim Kumar, Jayshree Gadkar, and Babloo; Mahasati Savitri (1973) directed by Chandrakant and starring Jayshree Gadkar, Upendra Trivedi, and Meena Talpade; Kisan Aur Bhagwan (1974) directed by Chandrakant and starring Dara Singh Randhawa, Feroz Khan and Yogeeta Bali; Bajrang Bali (1976) directed by Chandrakant and starring Dara Singh Randhawa, Biswajit Chatterjee, and Moushumi Chatterjee; and Dhyanu Bhagat (1978) directed by Dara Singh Randhawa and starring Singh along with Komilla Virk, and Satish Kaul

He penned songs such as Aji maana ke bahut hain aap haseen and Duniya banaane waale achcha yahi hota from Anarbala (1961), Nainon mein saawan ki dhaara from Bhakt Pooran (1952), Har har Shiv bam bam bhole from Ganga Maiyya (1955), Door gagan par chamken sitaare from Ram Hanuman Yudhh (1957), and Ek teer chalaa ke gori bijli giraa ke from Nav Durga (1953). Other songs for which he penned the lyrics include Chadhati umar nazar mastani for Anarbala (1961) rendered by Suman Kalyanpur with music by Bulo C Rani, Ek din jag ka rona sun kar and Dekho ji ho chhayi re bahar for Ganga Maiya (1955) which had music by Shankar Rao Vyas, Aaj prakruti ke roop kamal par for Rajyogi Bharthari (1954), Prabhu ki kathin dagar par chalna and Hey bhakto ke bhagya vidhata for Hari Darshan (1953) rendered by Meena Kapoor with music by Shankar Rao Vyas, Hum aur tum jo mil gaye toh sung by Mohammed Rafi and Geeta Dutt, Aayi bahar kiye solah singaar rendered by Lakshmi Roy and Geeta Dutt, and Dekho ri sakhi rangbhari holi aayi by Lakshmi Roy and Asha Bhosle,  with music by S N Tripathi for Nav Durga (1953), Daware aaj bajat badhaiya to angana for Bhakt Puran (1952) rendered by Asha Bhosle, Seva apna dharm hai by Lakshmi Rai and Mohammed Rafi, with music by Chitragupt for Bhakt Puran (1952), and Yun hi ulfat ke maro par ye duniya julm karti hai for Aladdin Aur Jadui Chirag (1952) sung by Shamshad Begum and Mohammed Rafi with music by S N Tripathi. 

He penned the story for Zingaro (1963) directed by Chandrakant and starring Bela Bose, Laxmi Chhaya, and Aruna Irani

Ramesh Chandra Pandey passed away on 19 June 1987.
